Smart glass is a new generation of glass made using liquid crystal technology. These glasses change state to opaque or transparent in less than tenths of a second by connecting and disconnecting electricity. Smart glass types can be applied as a label on the glass in the building and there is no need to replace the glass. This glass is used as a board, screen, etc., and they have a great impact on the energy consumption of the environment and creating privacy. These glasses are used in offices, commercial, residential, health and medical facades, hotels, conference halls, partitions, swimming pools, etc.

نحوه ی عملکرد این نوع شیشه به این گونه است. که در حالت عادی شیشه مات به نظر می رسد زیرا ولتاژی به ان اعمال نمی شود و حال زمانی که انرژی ای در حدود تا وات به دو طرف شیشه ی دو جداره اعمال می شود ، ذرات کریستال منظم گردیده و نور را از خود عبور می دهند انگاه شیشه شفاف به نظر می رسد.

برای ساخت شیشه ی هوشمند از تکنولوژی (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLCs است.فاده می شود که در ان از یک لایه film بین شیشه های دوجداره است.فاده می شود که قابلیت تنظیم عبور نور از خود را دارد به این گونه که در صورت نیاز شیشه مات یا شفاف میشود و از عبور نور به داخل محوطه ی مورد نظر می تواند جلوگیری کند.

PDLC and SPD smart glass technology is an active glass technology that switches the situation with electricity. These glasses simply change the amount of light passing through with the help of smart (and generally transparent) materials. By connecting an electric current to the glass, the particles of the material between its layers become regular and transmit light, and as soon as the power is cut off, they return to an irregular state and the glass becomes opaque. These glasses have the ability to control a variety of rays such as visible light, UV, IR, etc.

شیشه هوشمند ، Smart Glass/Film یا Switchable Glass/Film محصولی است. که قابلیت تنظیم میزان نور عبوری از خود را بین دو حالت شفاف و مات با است.فاده از برق AC دارد که با این کار می تواند جایگزین وسایل موجود دیگر گردد و هزینه های مربوطه را کاهش داد به عنوان مثال به راحتی قابلیت است.فاده به جای پرده ، پارتیشن و یا پرده ی پروژکتور را دارد و در صورت نیاز می توان موقعیت و شرایط موجود را تغییر داد.
