At medium to high-yield locations in particular, farmers attach great importance to good straw chopping and spreading. This is why, in a first for this class, the EVION is available with an optional -knife straw chopper as an alternative to the standard -knife version. Both shear bar and friction bar can be adjusted without tools while the switchover from chopping to swathing is performed at the right-hand side of the straw discharge hood. The straw guide plates are adjusted manually to the working width so that uniform distribution is ensured even when operating with a cutterbar width of . m. Chaff and short straw are distributed across the working width by optional, hydraulically driven chaff spreaders.

Buyers opting for an ELIOS can choose between a mechanical transmission with four speeds in three ranges with two mechanical ratios and mechanical reverser, or a version with TWINSHIFT (two powershift speeds) and hydraulic REVERSHIFT reverser. Both transmissions have forward and reverse gears, of which are in the main operating range between and km/h. With a minimum speed of m/h ( m/h at rpm), the tractors are ideally suited for working in speciality crops. The same can be said of the -speed transmission in the AXOS and ELIOS with forward and reverse gears, with this version offering as many as gears in the main operating range and a short shift lever for easy car-like shifting. TWINSHIFT powershift transmission – which increases tractive power by per cent at the press of a button – and the electrohydraulic REVERSHIFT clutchless reverser are included as standard. Another comfort feature that is normally associated with large tractors is the clutch button on the back of the shift lever – which eliminates the use of the foot clutch in virtually all operations, especially road journeys – and the optional SMART STOP function, which automatically disengages the transmission to bring the tractor to a standstill when the foot brake is applied at traffic lights, junctions and during front loader work and re-engages it when the foot brake is released. These transmissions reach a top speed of km/h at just rpm.

During a DLG test in (DLG Test Report ) with two AXION CMATIC tractors with trailed cultivators, CEMOS for Tractors was found to reduce fuel consumption by up to . per cent and increase area output by up to . per cent compared with an experienced field of international drivers. By continuously comparing sensor data on actual ground speed, tractive power, wheel slip, fuel consumption, engine speed and transmission ratio, along with other variables, CEMOS was shown to provide valuable assistance even for expert drivers – so even the best can be even better. Through this process of continuous data synchronisation, the system can precisely identify and quantify optimal operating states and variables during dynamic field work and then, using a dialogue-based interface, suggest ongoing adjustments to the driver. This is what makes CEMOS different from other purely static systems without the self-learning function.

The innovative crop flow is a particular feature of the DISCO RC AUTO SWATHER. As standard, the roller conditioners are driven by a double drive roller with a specially designed scissor gearbox – for maximum throughput and durability even under sustained heavy use. The transmission and drive trains are designed for use with tractors up to hp and incorporate new, P-Line triple telescopic driveshafts developed jointly with Walterscheid featuring specially toughened large diameter steel profiles and a new K- friction clutch. This combination makes the DISCO RC AUTO SWATHER the most powerful belt mower with conditioner currently on the market.

On all DISCO models, the new swinging arms can be hydraulically pivoted outwards by mm and inwards by mm (maximum travel mm) to adjust the overlap when turning corners and working across slopes. This helps to avoid unmown strips. The swing arm travel can be infinitely adjusted from the cab between . and . m.  When opening the field and mowing on slopes, the overlap can be variably increased giving up to cm on each side to ensure stripe-free mowing, even with these applications. When folded into transport position, the arms automatically retract to a height of less than . m.
