The threshing drum speed is infinitely adjustable from the CEMIS terminal. A speed range of to , rpm ( – ,  rpm with reduction kit) can be used in the EVION CLASSIC, while the EVION MAXI with its two-stage belt drives supports speed ranges of to and to , rpm. Concave clearance adjustment is performed hydraulically from the cab and features integrated overload protection provided by a diaphragm accumulator to prevent blockages from occurring in the threshing unit. As the threshing concave in both the CLASSIC and the MAXI versions of the EVION is a MULTICROP unit, conversion measures are only needed rarely, if ever, when switching between common threshing crops. When conversion is required, the concave segments can be swapped out easily through the stone trap. For maize threshing, cover plates can be fitted between the eight rasp bars.

All new tractors in the ELIOS , ELIOS and AXOS series derive their power from state-of-the-art FPT four-cylinder turbo engines with common-rail injection and Stage V emissions standard. The AXOS , ELIOS , and ELIOS , and work with the . l engine with bar injection pressure, wastegate turbocharger, intercooler and viscous fan, covering a performance range from to hp rated output at rpm and to hp maximum output at rpm. Maximum torque ranges from to Nm, depending on the model. Full engine torque is available across a wide speed range. In contrast, beneath the bonnet of the ELIOS lies the . l model with bar injection pressure, intercooler and viscous fan which delivers hp and up to Nm.

With lift capacities of to kg, the ELIOS , ELIOS and AXOS can lift standard implements for cultivation, grassland management and grounds maintenance. All types can be optionally fitted with a front loader with a lift capacity of kg – more than enough for front-mounted atttachments. All ELIOS and AXOS are supplied with an open-centre hydraulic system with an output of l/min as standard, with an optional third pump available for all three model series to increase output to l/min. For this specification, the ELIOS and AXOS can be supplied with an electrohydraulic operating system with ELECTROPILOT and rocker switches as an alternative to the standard mechanical version. At the rear, up to three double-acting spool valves and a free-flow return line are available for the ELIOS and AXOS, while a fourth double-acting spool valve is available for the ELIOS and AXOS with the third pump option. In addition, all ELIOS and AXOS can be fitted with two mid-mount double-acting connections for use with front loaders, in plantations or for municipal work.

The successful basic concept with a bolted, highly resilient central frame and two steering axles was adopted from the XERION , and models and adapted to reflect the increased output, higher weight and larger track width. New TERRA TRAC triangular crawler track units or dual tyres up to / R transfer the power gently and efficiently to the ground, while the driver enjoys an excellent all-round view in the large, four-point-suspended cab. The low-speed concept . marks a perfect synthesis between the efficient, high-cubic-capacity Mercedes-Benz engine and the optimally coordinated continuously variable transmission –  capped by the high-performance, low-engine speed hydraulics featuring the highest hydraulic output on the market. With a maximum power output up to hp and up to Nm of torque, the XERION Series is currently the most powerful four-wheel-drive tractor with continuously variable transmission technology on the market and features the familiar CEMOS operator assistance and process optimisation system from CLAAS standard tractors with CMATIC continuously variable transmission.

Access to the engine from the maintenance platform is excellent, simply requiring the cover plate which provides protection from dust and dirt deposits to be raised to the open position with the support of two gas struts. A rotating radiator screen cleans the air intake area continuously. For daily cleaning tasks, an air compressor with three connection points – near the cab (for cab cleaning), at the left above the rear axle (cleaning of sieve and straw walker area as well as the drives on the right-hand side) and near the engine (cleaning of engine area) – is available as an option.
