چوب پلاست ( Wood Plast ) که امروزه به اختصارwp نامیده می شوند، کامپوزیت هایی هستند که از ترکیب موادی همچون الیاف چوب طبیعی ، پلاستیک و ترموپلاستیک ها و نوعی آرد مخصوص ساخته می شوند چوب پلاست polywood نوع بسیار جدیدی از این گروه محصولات می باشد که در تولید آن از دو بخش مواد است.فاده می گردد . در بخش چوب از مواد اولیه ای مانند الیاف تفاله ، پوسته بادام زمینی ، بامبو ، کاه و در بخش پلاستیک از پلی اتیلن ، پی وی سی و پلی پروپیلن ها است.فاده می شود .

این مواد پس از ترکیب در دستگاه های اکسترود تشکیل یک خمیر قوام گرفته را می دهند که ماده اولیه این نوع کامپوزیت می باشد . پس از تشکیل این ماده اولیه و تهیه پروفیل ها و مقاطع مورد نیاز هر نوع رزین و مواد ترکیبی نیز به آنها افزوده می شود و در آخرین مرحله این مواد در قالب ها شکل گرفته و خشک می شوند .
