First introduced on the TRION in and available for CLAAS tractors and the JAGUAR since , the CEMIS Universal Terminal with the new GPS PILOT is now the standard device for all self-propelled CLAAS machines not just for automatic steering, but also for fleet management and smart farming applications. The successor to the S terminal features a -inch colour touchscreen and is equipped with a wide choice of correction signals and ISOBUS functions. As well as online documentation, it can handle ISOBUS implement control (in addition to the CEBIS terminal), a wide range of Task Controller applications, automatic Section Control and Variable Rate Application on tractors. The new functions and features will be available on the terminal developed by CLAAS E-Systems in Dissen from calendar year .
The ELIOS series incorporates four models with maximum output ranging from to hp. While the entry-level ELIOS features familiar optics and is available as a platform or cab version with an overall height from . m (. m with cab), the ELIOS , and have been remodelled and are available with cab only. The four-speed transmission can be ordered either as a purely mechanical version or with TWINSHIFT powershifting and REVERSHIFT reverser. The rear linkage has a lift capacity of . t and a gross vehicle weight of . t – with the rear axle standing on -inch wheels. This combination of features makes the ELIOS ideal for simple tasks around the yard and in the shed – for repetitive logistics work with or without front loader and for light to moderately heavy draught work.
On entering the cab, which is reached via pivoting access steps, you are immediately struck by the spaciousness and the modern control armrest with the ergonomic CMOTION multifunction lever, the clearly laid-out keypad and the CEMIS touchscreen terminal. The -inch CEMIS , which can be adjusted to the position that suits each operator best, has a high-contrast display that allows machine functions to be monitored easily, even in bright sunlight. The ability to call up saved settings for all common threshing crops allows the machine to be deployed quickly and enables easy, time-saving changeovers between grain types. The operator can override the saved settings at any time during harvesting and adjust them in accordance with the prevailing conditions. Further advantages of CEMIS include its ability to store jobs and to record fuel consumption separately for road and field operation as well as in litres per hour and litres per hectare. As CEMIS is a fully-fledged ISOBUS terminal, it can also be used for other tasks with tractors and implements outside the combine harvesting season.
The ground drive is provided by a -speed, manually shifted hydrostatic drive. A choice of top speeds – , or km/h – is available. For the MAXI version, an electrically engageable differential lock is available for the front wheels which have a diameter of up to . m. For the rear axle, customers have a choice of wheels with a diameter of . m or, for maximum soil protection, as much as . m.
The main controls are located in the ergonomic side console, grouped according to function and all within easy reach. Shelves and storage areas can be found on and beside the side console. All relevant information such as diesel consumption per hour, transmission oil temperature or fill level of the diesel particulate filter can be viewed on the .-inch colour display in the steering wheel console. The display can also be used to adjust the settings of functions such as rear linkage lift speed, and for versions with electronic spool valves (ELIOS and AXOS only), the response time of the hydraulic spool valves and the maximum flow rate, as well as the timer.
