Unlike the ELIOS , the ELIOS series starts at a maximum output of hp and comprises three models. However, the main difference from the ELIOS is the -speed transmission with TWINSHIFT powershifting and hydraulic REVERSHIFT reverser as standard. In addition, unlike the ELIOS , the cab floor is flat. The additional comfort provided by these features makes working with the ELIOS even more of a pleasure, be it in the yard and shed or on grassland, fields, plantations and forests. Kerb weight starts at kg, while the minimum external width of . m and minimum height of . m enable the tractor to be used in plantations and older-style buildings. With a maximum track width of mm, the ELIOS can also be used safely on uneven terrain and sloping ground. CLAAS can supply factory-fitted Trelleborg turf tyres (rear / R., front / R.) on request to protect the soil and reduce tracks when driving over grassland in parks, riding arenas and sports grounds.

Two counter-rotating polyurethane rollers crush the crop gently yet effectively without loss. The conditioner spans the entire width of the mower bed to ensure continuous linear flow without forage bblockages. Optimised crop transfer to the mm wide, extremely robust Kevlar-reinforced cross conveyor belts ensures uniform filling of the AUTO SWATHER belt units. This produces an even, loose and perfectly shaped swath which the harvester following behind can easily pick up and process.

At medium to high-yield locations in particular, farmers attach great importance to good straw chopping and spreading. This is why, in a first for this class, the EVION is available with an optional -knife straw chopper as an alternative to the standard -knife version. Both shear bar and friction bar can be adjusted without tools while the switchover from chopping to swathing is performed at the right-hand side of the straw discharge hood. The straw guide plates are adjusted manually to the working width so that uniform distribution is ensured even when operating with a cutterbar width of . m. Chaff and short straw are distributed across the working width by optional, hydraulically driven chaff spreaders.

The grain tank integrated behind the cab holds , l in the EVION , , l in the EVION and , l in the top-of-the-range EVION . Sensors alert the operator when the fill level reaches percent and then percent. In addition to this functionality, a large grain tank inspection window gives the operator a direct, comprehensive view of the fill level and grain quality. When it comes to unloading, all three EVION models benefit from the  mm diameter of the grain tank unloading tube and the resulting -litre-per-second unloading rate – meaning that offloading can be completed in to . minutes. The -degree pivot angle of the grain tank unloading spout ensures that the operator always has a perfect view of the offloading process. A pivoting grain tank unloading tube spout, as already used in the TRION and LEXION, is available as an option to provide high-precision control of the grain stream directed at the transport vehicle.

During a DLG test in (DLG Test Report ) with two AXION CMATIC tractors with trailed cultivators, CEMOS for Tractors was found to reduce fuel consumption by up to . per cent and increase area output by up to . per cent compared with an experienced field of international drivers. By continuously comparing sensor data on actual ground speed, tractive power, wheel slip, fuel consumption, engine speed and transmission ratio, along with other variables, CEMOS was shown to provide valuable assistance even for expert drivers – so even the best can be even better. Through this process of continuous data synchronisation, the system can precisely identify and quantify optimal operating states and variables during dynamic field work and then, using a dialogue-based interface, suggest ongoing adjustments to the driver. This is what makes CEMOS different from other purely static systems without the self-learning function.
