With its CLAAS universal feeder housing and multicoupler, the EVION is able to accept the front attachments already used with the TRION and LEXION models: grain cutterbars up to a working width of . m and maize pickers for up to rows. On CLASSIC versions, the front attachment is driven by a single belt while MAXI versions have two. The MAXI version of the EVION is therefore recommended for grain maize harvesting. The TREND equipment package includes CONTOUR ground contour adaptation as standard. This automatically adjusts the front attachment to ground undulations parallel to the direction of travel. EVION models in BUSINESS configuration are equipped with the AUTO CONTOUR system as standard (option on CLASSIC version) which is programmed via CEMIS for precise adjustment of the cutterbar table to cope with ground undulations both parallel and transverse to the direction of travel.
With two steering axles, the TERRA TRAC and TRAC steer tightly and precisely with the cab and rear linkage remaining in mid-axle. The steering behaviour is similar to that of standard tractors: steering manoeuvres and turning operations are implement- and driver-friendly with minimal track formation. In addition to the standard steering programme with trailed rear-wheel steering, classic four-wheel steering with simultaneous steering of the front and rear axle is also available, and the TRAC can also be driven in gentle mode (reduced crab steering) for silage clamp work. The DYNAMIC STEERING function available in the standard steering programme halves the number of turns of the steering wheel needed during fieldwork and further reduces the steering torque.
The ability to automatically create multiple reference lines per field provides a further efficiency boost. Using recorded or imported field boundaries, A-B lines and contours for different areas and sections of the field can be calculated and saved before cultivating the field. This feature simplifies work in irregularly shaped fields, as several headland sequences and rounded field boundaries can be saved as references in addition to the main working direction.
The DISCO RC AUTO SWATHER features new design concepts for exceptionally high-yielding crops, such as a modified, innovative crop transfer to the mm wide Kevlar-reinforced conveyor belt and subsequent discharge to the swath. The two angled positions not only ensure that the belt is uniformly filled; in addition, a large volume of material can be consolidated into a single swath, producing a perfectly shaped swath for the harvester following behind.
CLAAS has launched the two most powerful belt grouper mowers on the market for tractors up to hp – the DISCO C AUTO SWATHER and DISCO RC AUTO SWATHER. These mowers have been specifically developed for harvesting lucerne, whole-crop silage and winter forage alongside traditional grass crops, with the focus on maximum yields and forage volumes. The harvested crop is gently and effectively crushed without loss by two counter-rotating polyurethane rollers. Furthermore, the conditioner extends across the entire width of the mower bed to avoid any forage jams.
