Introduction: Elemental sulfur is byproduct of natural gas refining which during this process, HS is removed from sour gas and after changes to solid sulfur, it is stored in large block forms. Continuous precipitation of sulfur and its oxidation causes soil acidification and as a result, nutrient cations such as Ca+, Mg+, Na+ and K+ will leach from the soil profile. Also, sulfate accumulation led to soil acidification and accelerates the silicates weathering in upper layer of the soil profile. Accumulation of water soluble sulfate in the soil and increase the nutrient cations leaching from the soil depend on sulfate resistance rate. Also, addition of sulfur to the soil for a long time can cause calcium sulfate formation that will cause problems such as increase in soil salinity. Shahid Hashemi Nezhad gas refinery is located about km south of Sarakhs city and about km east north of Mashhad. In addition to exploiting, refining and producing × m.day- natural gas, recovered sulfur with %/ purity and tons per day production capacity is one of the byproducts of this gas complex.

واحد سولفات آمونیوم پتروشیمی ارومیه در سال با ظرفیت هزار تن در سال، برای تولید سولفات آمونیوم پودری راه اندازی شد؛ این واحد در مرحله اول توسعه از ظرفیت هزار تن در سال به هزار تن و در مرحله دوم به هزار تن در سال افزایش یافت. در مرحله سوم توسعه واحد گرانول سازی نیز به این مجموعه اضافه شد.

سالانه مقادیر متنابهی گوگرد صادراتی از منابع نفت و گاز کشورمان است.حصال می شود و کشور ما یکی از تولید کنندگان مهم گوگرد دنیاست. گوگرد ایران دارای کیفیت مطلوب و خلوص بالایی است.. به طوری که علاوه بر تأمین نیاز داخل کشور، بخشی از آن به خارج از کشور نیز صادر می شود.

ایران یکی از تولید و تأمین کنندگان مهم گوگرد در جهان است. و سالانه مقدار بسیار زیادی از منابع نفت و گاز کشور، گوگرد است.حصال می‌گردد و گوگرد ایران دارای کیفیت بسیار مناسب و خلوص بالا و اش (خاکستر) کمتری است. که علاوه بر تأمین نیاز صنایع داخل کشور ، بخش عمده ای نیز بصورت فله (کلوخه و گرانول) به خارج از کشور صادر میگردد.
